Department Summary

The Roche/Genentech Clinical Development organization is structured by therapeutic area and is responsible for developing and executing the late stage development (Phase 2-3) clinical strategies and plans to deliver medically differentiated therapies that provide meaningful improvement to patients. 

Working with the Nephrology/Rheumatology clinical group, the intern will support a project focused on evaluating data from the recently completed positive phase 3 study of Gazyva, a monoclonal antibody that depletes B-cells, in lupus nephritis to assist the team in understanding how early effects of Gazyva inform longer term clinical responses.

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.

The Opportunity

Opportunity to work with the Clinical Science Team Leaders/Clinical Scientists in the late stage clinical development nephrology/rheumatology therapeutic area to analyze clinical trial data in a disease with significant morbidity and mortality

Conduct a literature review to help the team understand the latest thinking on biomarkers and clinical response in lupus nephritis and potentially other autoimmune diseases.

Gather data on other competitive therapies to outline similarities and differences to the data generated in our phase 3 study

Present results at team meetings and at departmental meetings to the Genentech scientific community

Professional & personal development curriculum throughout the program, including networking opportunities, workshops, and panel discussions.

 

Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Program start dates are in May/June (Summer) 

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Work with various experts in the field and a talented and experienced team in the biotechnology industry

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education:

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
 

Required Majors: STEM-related (science based - biology, chemistry, etc, mathematics, engineering, computer science, technology)

Required Skills: 

Familiarity with Microsoft excel or other database program, PowerPoint or other presentation programs.

You have a sincere interest in gaining experience in clinical research.

Preferred Skills:

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of  California is $25.00-$33.00 hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
