Department Summary
You will be joining a team of the Research and Early Development chapter area in the broader Roche Diagnostic organization to drive the discovery and development of innovative solutions that have real impact on people’s lives. Collaborating with the team members with diverse backgrounds, you will work hands-on in developing the novel molecular diagnostic applications at point-of-care.
This internship position is located in Pleasanton, California, On-site.
The Opportunity
Analytical characterization of novel proteins.
Investigation of enzymology mechanisms.
Leads an independent research project as part of the research and early development of novel diagnostic devices.
Data analysis, report generation, and verbal presentation of lab results to project teams.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-week, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Who You Are (Required)
Required Education: Must be an enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor/Master/Ph.D.'s DegreeRequired majors: Biomedical, Biochemistry, or associated sub-disciplinesRequired skills
Good knowledge in biochemistry and molecular biology
Lab experience with proteomics or enzymatic reaction
Experience with workplace software
Able to grasp new concepts quickly, and appreciate the learning-by-doing philosophy.
Ability to work independently in the lab and balance multiple tasks
Good work ethics with a ‘can-do’ mentality and aptitude for approaching challenging questions with attention to details and independent, critical thinking.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR).
Experience with nucleic acid chemistry
Experience with structural biology and analysis tools.
Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $20-55 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job- related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
