2025 Summer Intern - Public Affairs & Access: Channel Operations (Channel & Contract Management)

Channel Operations, Product Lifecycle and Production team is seeking a summer intern to support our work on a couple of key patient safety initiatives. The intern will also be encouraged to gain cross-functional experience across Public Affairs & Access to better understand how we leverage our communications, market access, government affairs, and externally-facing capabilities to drive impact for our patients, our people, and our communities where we live and work. Interns will have peer-to-peer support, networking opportunities, and career development opportunities with other interns in Public Affairs & Access as well as throughout Genentech.
This internship position is located in SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, On-Site.
The Opportunity
Channel Operations is looking for an intern to refine the Business Guidance Document—a formal document designed to provide direction and outline procedures, roles, and responsibilities within the organization as it pertains to a patient safety regulatory requirement (a.k.a DSCSA - Drug Supply Chain Security Act). The intern will:
Align and generate awareness of the Business Guidance Document as a tool across teams that can be leveraged for FDA audits and enhancing team coordination.
Collaborate with stakeholders from Public Access & Affairs, Distribution, and Pharma Technical groups to gather updates
Ensure that the document accurately reflects current procedures, responsible teams and includes updated contacts.
Propose a mechanism by which this document can be managed in the future.
Additionally, the interim may participate and support the planning and coordination of any patient safety pilots ongoing during this period, focused on leveraging technology to enhance traceability and security of Genentech medicines.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Who You Are
Required Education. You meet one of the following criteria:
Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree.
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree and are within 2 years of graduation.
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
Must have attained a Master's Degree and are within 2 years of graduation.
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
Must have attained a PhD and are within 2 years of graduation.
Required Majors: Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Healthcare, Public Policy, or related.
Required Skills:
Interest in health care, patient safety and supply chain.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multitask and work independently with little supervision.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills (ability to convey information clearly, listen effectively, and ask appropriate questions).
Good interpersonal skills - ability to interact and engage audiences at different levels.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $23-$45 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
