Department Summary

RTD PHCS Development is to develop diagnostic products of the highest quality which ensure that every cancer patient receives the most beneficial treatment option through targeted therapy. The diagnostic products are based on immunohistochemistry technology and on the automated instrument platforms.

This internship position is located in Tucson Arizona, On-Site

Key Responsibilities

Participate in studies and experiments to develop and characterize immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining reagents and assays on automated tissue staining platforms.

Be part of the project team and may engage in studies for feasibility or verification work.

Depending on the progression of the involved project, the intern may help to develop a nanoString assay and use it to assist the product development and evaluation.

When possible, the intern will have the opportunity to complete an individual research project related to the design and performance of an IHC assay. Such an intern project encompasses planning, designing, and performing the experiment, analyzing the resulting data and presenting the results to an interdisciplinary audience.

Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Who You Are (Required) 

Required Education:

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree

Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).

Must be pursuing a Master's (enrolled student)

Must have attained a Master's Degree.

Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
 

Required Majors: Molecular and cellular biology, Biochemistry, immunology, 

Required Skills: 

Have at least 6 month of wet laboratory working experience.

Proficient on computer skills, including emailing, chatting, online meetings and Microsoft Office etc.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Have knowledge on immunohistochemistry technology.

Have knowledge on basic statistical analysis and methods.

IHC experience is preferred

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of  California is $22-$43 hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
