Department Summary

The summer at Roche Intern Program has developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience. Interns enjoy opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees throughout our organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Digital Pathology department builds IVD grade digital pathology software across a plurality of modalities streamlining the delivery of science and algorithms into high volume clinical diagnostics.  We focus on accelerating Digital Pathology adoption by providing solutions in AWS cloud and on premise. 

This internship position is located in Santa Clara, California, On-Site.

The Opportunity

Breakdown the project requirement to research/technical problems.

Collaborate with Digital Pathology lead software engineers/architects to understand the project requirement.

Research and communicate/present possible solutions to the problems identified with the team

Develop frameworks, monitoring tools and automate using Java, Java Scripts or Python, AI and Linux.

Generate the documents & project reports.

Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship

Program start date is June 16th, 2025 (Summer).

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required) 

Required Education. You meet one of the following criteria:

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

Targeting Degree Level. Undergraduates who have completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework at a university, or current graduate students (MS) who are available to work full time for the duration of the internship.

Required Majors.   Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during the program calendar year 2025 in any of the following majors: Computer Science Engineering, Data Science, and / or Electrical Engineering. 

Required Skills: 

Experience with Java, JavaScript or Python.

Knowledge of Rest / Soap API frameworks, CI/CD.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $27-$50 an hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
