Requisition Summary Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an opening for an Environmental Intern to add to our Maintenance department in Denton, Texas. The Maintenance and Facilities Group Intern will work with the Maintenance and Facilities Departments to gather data and information for correctly cataloging and verifying specifications for existing plant equipment. In addition, they will work with the Facilities Department to develop and complete project scopes of work for new capital and expense projects. Job Functions / Responsibilities This position will be working on various projects and reports to include but not limited to: + Assist with the implementation of an ISO50001 energy management system. + Gather data for environmental reporting and project development. + Update documented procedures, work instructions and forms. + Assist with compliance evaluations, internal audits and corrective actions. + Assist with training personnel in environmental regulations. Skills The skills that are important to be successful in this position are as follows: + Enrolled in and pursuing a B.S. Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, NaturalScience (Chemistry, Biology, Geology) and have completed at a minimum their sophomore year of college. (Required). + Exceptional demonstrable organizational and interpersonal skills. + Strong verbal and written communications skills. + Exceptional demonstrable application and use of Microsoft Office Suite. + Capable of working in a fast-paced environment. + Aptitude for learning other software applications. + Aptitude for learning environmental regulations and standards. + Leadership / Participation in environmental related projects or teams. + Must be a self-starter, resourceful, and capable to multitasking. + Basic understanding of industrial equipment and safety practices. + Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment. + Capable of working flexible hours. Education T he candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in an Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Biology or other similar science program.
