Freeport-McMoRan is a leading international metals company with global headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support our operations in accounting and finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, planning, engineering, and more. Our virtual internship program allows interns to work virtually as well as come together in person when needed at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations.  Interns can work remotely from most states in the U.S., with the exception of California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded from virtual work based on business factors. 

Description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of supply chain duties which would include but not limited to:

Participates in system implementation/business process projectsContributes to reporting, analytical, and date enrichment activitiesReviews inventory data within Inventory Planning SystemCreate analysis on Market trends and develop analysis in support of bid activitesPrepares system and business process training documentationAssists with execution of training and system/business process rollout activitiesPerforms other duties as requiredQualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Full-time student currently enrolled in an appropriate Bachelor's degree program at an accredited four-yearuniversity; ORRecent college graduate having graduated within 12 months prior to internship start date with anappropriate Bachelor's degreeAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsKnowledge of purchasing rules, regulations, inventory control systems and methods, forms purchaseorders and accounts payable processesAbility to research and gather information related to vendors, contracts, equipment and suppliesAbility to use computer databases to research, maintain and update records and filesAble to operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and vehicles within a warehouse environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Able to use a variety of computer software, including word processing, database and spreadsheetapplications (Microsoft office suite)Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standardsMust be able to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlinesPersonal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as requiredFreeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/ alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable state laws

Compensation:

 

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.25-$28.00/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.
