Over the course of 10-12 weeks, as an IT Process Improvement Intern, you'll work in the corporate office in Garner, NC. Butterball’s IT team is spread throughout the company, but this role will work with our IT Process Improvement Analyst who is also located in Garner. This internship's goal will be to identify a technology-based improvement opportunity and devise and manage the project plan for implementation. This could entail a brand-new project or building from an existing project.  
 
The program’s primary objective is to grow future leaders by providing professional development and a series of assignments that aligns with professional interest within the processing and manufacturing industry.  
 
What you’ll do:

\n\nOn-site process evaluation with operations groups to identify a need for technology-based improvement.  \nCollaborate with internal and external teams to identify the best possible solution to said challenge.\nSubmit a project proposal, build, and manage the project using our project management tool, Smartsheet.  \nProjects may range from digitizing current paper processes, creating SOP documents, calculating ROI for current or potential opportunities, implementing new or current software to create more efficient processes for our operations teams, as well as other projects not yet discovered.  \nCollaborate with multiple departments throughout Butterball, including CI, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering, Live Operations, IT, and corporate support groups. \nComplete online Process Improvement Specialist course from SSGI. \n\n

\n\nPursuing a Bachelors, Master or PhD in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, Engineering or related field with an expected graduation date of December 2025 through June 2026\nAll participants in this program are required to have a valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation to and from work.\nThere will be frequent travel to our North Carolina plant and live operation locations depending on project needs.  \nThe individual in this role will be required to initiate, lead, and follow through on conversations, presentations, and training, and should be comfortable with public speaking. \nThis role requires a balance of technical, analytical thinking as well as being personable and able to make connections to further implement change on an enterprise level. \nStrong business acumen - ability to understand the impact of IT on different parts of the business. \n\n
