As a Summer Nurse Intern at CentraCare, you will gain hands-on experience and be mentored one-on-one by Registered Nurses who are focused on helping you succeed. Our ten-week paid Summer Nurse Internship program will provide you with 360+ hours of real-world nursing experience, allowing you to increase your confidence and prepare you for your career after graduation. Many of our interns receive job offers with us prior to graduation!

By completing this application, you will be considered for all Summer Nurse Internships within CentraCare. Hospital and unit preferences will be discussed if selected for a phone interview.

Dates to Know: 

Applications are accepted until 4pm on December 31, 2024. Phone interviews will be completed by January 10, 2025. If selected for a phone interview, a recruiter will contact you via email to schedule a 30-minute phone call. During this call we will discuss hospitals and units of interest.  Internship offers will be extended starting on February 3, 2025.  The 10-week Summer Nurse Internship will run from June 2 – August 8, 2025.

Internship Schedule:

All interns will work full-time hours, ranging between 72-80 hours every two weeks. Interns will follow the preceptor’s schedule and can include working days, evenings, nights, every other or every 3rd weekend, and holidays. Depending on the unit, interns may work 8 or 12-hour shifts, or a combination.  Interns will receive their first schedule in late May.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in an ADN or BSN program with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026.  Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required. Participation in an internship course within the state of Minnesota for the entire 10-week program required. Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above is preferred.  Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a health care environment preferred.

Pay:

$21.63 per hour
