Over the course of 10-12 weeks, as an R&D Intern, you'll work in our processing located in located in Mount Olive, NC. You’ll provide an encompassing experience through a variety of projects that support our business within the Research & Development Team. 

\n

The program’s primary objective is to grow future leaders by providing professional development and a series of assignments that aligns with professional interest within the processing and manufacturing industry.

What you’ll do: 

\n\nBecome familiar with the product development lifecycle and Stage Gate project management system\nGain understanding of product production processes through production line tour and audit\nGain project management experience with New Products, Process Improvement projects\nExecute a continuous improvement project (savings or operational efficiency)\nLearn to design and execute a production test in the production environment.\nReview your test findings key internal stakeholders for approval

Do you have a knack for problem-solving and a passion for food? We're looking for creative minds who can help us make our food production process even better. You'll need to be a team player, ready to roll up your sleeves and get things done. Think you have what it takes to make a delicious difference? 

\n\nPursuing a Bachelors, Master or PhD in Food Science, Poultry, Animal or Food Science or related field an expected graduation date of December 2025 through June 2026\nProficiency in math and background in statistics\nInterest in poultry/meat food manufacturing\nPrevious coursework on lean and or lean Six Sigma practices\nBilingual English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
