Job Description

The Global Manufacturing Sciences Organization (GMSci) at Takeda drives innovation and excellence in our manufacturing processes.  The Global Material Qualification (GMQ) Team focuses on ensuring production materials meet strict regulatory and quality standards.  This global team promotes alignment across the network, deploys digital tools, and leads strategic initiatives to improve efficiency.  Our commitment to efficiency and safety supports Takeda’s mission of delivering high-quality medicines to patients worldwide. 

The Material Qualification (MQ) intern will play a key role in supporting the Global Material Qualification team at Takeda.  Responsibilities include assisting with the deployment of digital tools to enhance material lifecycle management and facilitate knowledge sharing across the network.  The intern will support various initiatives aimed at ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while helping to develop and organize material qualification information.  Additionally, the role will involve collaborating on strategy projects focused on improving efficiency in the material implementation process.

Assist in deploying and utilizing digital tools used to enhance material lifecycle management.

Support the development and organization of material qualification packages.

Contribute to various initiatives that drive continuous improvement within the Global Material Qualification network.

Engage with cross-functional teams to optimize material implementation processes.

Work with cross-functional Material Implementation Teams in a highly matrixed environment to advance material implementation goals 

Internship Development Opportunities:

Job Requirements:

This position will be Hybrid (1-3 days/week in office), out of the Cambridge location

Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in STEM degree program

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills for effective team collaboration.

Ability to partner with diverse material implementation teams, including quality, procurement and regulatory affairs.

Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and flexibility of thought in addressing challenges.

Possess effective time management and organization skills to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Proficient analytical skills to evaluate data and assess material qualification processes.

Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration.
 

Internship Eligibility  

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship  

Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later  

The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)   

The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames   

Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates   

Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
