Job DescriptionCheck for paper damages and ensure the correct roll size, grade and caliper are used before preparing rolls to be loaded onto the machine.Ensures that the roll of paper is properly unwrapped, mounted and ready to be splicedMonitors the flow of paper throughout the run. Prepares and installs new roll when necessaryOperate pallet jack and or forklift to move finished cut paper skids to the shipping area.Strap waste skids.Operate pallet jacks and forklift in the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.Check forklift at the beginning of each shift to ensure its safe to use.Ensure all occupational health and safety guidelines are being followed.Report any unsafe equipment to your supervisor.Ensure all required personal protective equipment is worn at the required time and in the required area.Keep work area clean at all times.Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policiesParticipates in special projects as assignedIt is the responsibility of all RRD employees to follow the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual

QualificationsAbility to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing bindery requirements which indicate the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the work and to maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided; independently makes decisions on the type of equipment to be usedMust be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machinesSkill in using the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the bindery machinesGeneral knowledge of the more complex bindery machines (i.e. fully automatic binding machines (perfect binders), multiple station collators and multiple folding units, either individually or combined) to perform the full range of standard and specialized folds of printed materialsThorough knowledge of the set up, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities and limitations of one or more bindery machines to perform the full range of standard and specialized folding, collating and cutting of printed materials to complete a combined finishing productKnowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stockSkill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine such adjustments for the weight, color, machinability and quality of paper stock being used and to prevent machining impressions on the printed materials

Additional Information

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $20.20 to $27.80 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
