Duties and Responsibilities:

At beginning of shift, checks schedule, machinery set-up and cleanliness to insure efficient start up. “Pre-Op” Assists Supervisor in efficiently running line according to spec. while maintaining good teamwork environment quality and safety. Trains and monitors employees to be sure they are performing and/or rotating on their jobs properly every 60 minutes. Ensure Safety Policies and Rules are being followed by all employees. Ex: LOTO, PIT, GMPS, PPE Keep track of production piece counts for paperwork and boards. Scanning of HU’s to production orders, yields, downgrades and rework. Reduce inedible. Set up production schedules and paperwork with direction from the Supervisor Set up crews by putting together and posting a list of who works where. Pre-op lines before start-up for cleanliness (sometimes with USDA). Print tree tags and labels using computer for production lines. Fill out SSOP and HASSP paperwork. Keep track and document any foreign material found in the products, vats or machines. Checks and maintains proper speeds of slicing and packaging machines according to specifications. Assists maintenance with minor troubleshooting of machines. Fills in on all jobs as needed. Perform quality control checks on a 30min basis and ensures proper product change overs during shift. Refers employee discipline problems to Supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities: 

Assist with operation of the department while keeping supervisors and superintendents informed of any issues relating to raw materials, labor, scheduling, and mechanical. Keeping production records and inputting transactions in SAP and monitor yields.

Qualifications

Working knowledge on Bargaining Agreement with UFCW. Demonstrates leadership and conflict resolution skills. Good attendance – no more than 6 points and ability to work weekends. Good work record – limited active disciplines. Prior leadership position preferred. Must be able to read and speak English. Bilingual a plus

Tools and Equipment: 

Hairnet, machines, pen & paper, gloves, set-up tools.
 

Working Conditions:

Good light and ventilation, temperature 45°.  Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
 

Safety Equipment:

Bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes and eye protection.

Safety Training Required to Become Competent in the Following:

Proper Lifting, Lock/Tag/Try authorized, PIT, PPE and GMP.
