McCain Foods, Rice Lake is currently hiring for 2nd shift General Production/ Sanitation Workers. The hours are Monday- Friday, 3 pm- 11 pm with some OT. The starting rate of pay is $23/ hour ($20/ hour + $3 shift differential) and $26.70/ hour when performing Sanitation duties. ($23.70/ hour + $3 shift differential)

McCain Food’s facility in Rice Lake Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 260 employees. This site specializes in the production of onion rings.

 

Position Summary:

The General Production Worker position is primarily responsible for sorting and separating the onion rings as they come out of the auger following the standard operating procedures. One day a week, this shift also assists with Sanitation duties.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Separate and sort raw onion rings to specificationFollow the separator Job Safety Analysis and all other safety policies and proceduresFollow the Good Manufacturing Practices and all quality policies and proceduresPick carbon from finished productUnder limited supervision, performs any of a variety of cleaning and sanitation work in areas of the plant following established sanitation standards, procedures and practices. Performs dismantling, cleaning, sanitizing and resembling work on plant equipment including end cutters, slicers, pneumatic systems, sorting tables, breaders, batter applicators and mixers, packing tables, extruders, fryers, vertical form fillers, matrix blenders and all conveyors.  Uses high pressure cleaning apparatuses and mixes numerous chemical compounds and solutions used for flushing, cleaning and sanitizing all interior flat surfaces; scrubbing, cleaning and sanitizing all plumbing fixtures; cleaning and wiping all glass surfaces; and dusting, wiping and cleaning all horizontal surfaces in non -production areas. Empties and relines all trash receptacles. Flushes, scrubs and sanitizes all ceilings, walls and floors; cleans and wipes lights and electrical cords, and cleans cold storage areas as required. Pumps oil to and from extruded fryer as necessary. May operate material handling moving equipment in performing sanitation work.Initiates production start up procedures by supplying raw materials for line use, mixes batter, fills breaded feed hoppers and starts all equipment. Understands and follows all established sanitation and safety rules, procedures and practices.Understands and follows established sanitation and safety rules and procedures. 

 

Qualifications:

2 + years production or general manufacturing experience.

Ability to comprehend and communicate in Basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.

Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per shift and lift up to 60 pounds for sanitation.

 

Physical Demand:

Constant: use and movement of hands, forward head/neck flexion, and standing on regularly scheduled shift.

Frequently: Grasping of hands, pushing with thumbs and fingers, and reaching for 8 hours daily.

Occasionally: Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist.

 

The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on ladders work from heights; stoop, kneel, sit, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee must lift and/or push up to 60 pounds to include the carriages for the batter machines or barrels of breading up to 40-60 inches from ground.  The employee must grasp 50 pounds of force when using the high-pressure gun.  The employee must occasionally push carts weighing up to 450 pounds with 30 pounds of force.
