2nd Shift Material Handler

Mueller Company (Mueller Co.), the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening for a Material Handler position based in our Kimball, TN Facility.

The primary function of this position is responsible to ship, receive, and deliver supplies, materials and equipment, operate overhead cranes and maintain inventory control and records; perform related work.

Essential Functions:

Shipping and loading trucks: checks identification, reports shortages or damage, moves, stores, stacks, and arrangesReceives and unloads freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacksInventory transfer: unloads, moves, and stores a variety of materials, parts, or products using standardized proceduresMust be able to identify, record, and keep like parts togetherMay be required to assist in weighing or counting materialsMaintaining inventory records, inventory adjustments, ship confirmations, receiving tally and scrap entryPerform Cycle counts and other related dutiesOperate a power lift truck, hand truck, dolly, or other deviceOperate overhead crane and other rigging devicesMay be required to be back up for shipping supervisor (print shippers, prepare BOL, etc)Wear the proper PPE for each task givenPerform other related duties as directed

Physical Requirements:

Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feelAbility to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouchAbility to lift and/or move 50 pounds, and up to 100 poundsSpecific vision requirements include close vision and color visionAbility to work from a standing position for extended periods of timeAbility to work around hot heavy machineryAbility to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold)

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalentValid Tennessee Driver’s LicenseMust have good written and oral communication skillsMust have 2+ years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse settingForklift experienceKnowledge of Fed Ex or UPS systemsFamiliarity with inventory and scalesGood communication skillsFollow oral and written instructions and printsMulti task and self-motivated
