2nd Shift QA Assistant and Clerk

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for providing general clerical and system support for the Quality function.  Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

     

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                              

Under minimal supervision, accurately complete and maintain required documentation including reconciliation between inventory management system and hold reportFollowing product release from pre-shipment review (HACCP, microbiological/chemistry, paperwork review and final sign-off), release product in AdageSet up products, download information, print histograms and attach to appropriate paperwork from DatamytePrint specifications and writes spec change request forms; obtain required signaturesMaintain, print and distribute required charts and graphsUpdate QA bulletin board with QA matrix informationComplete weekly report on product samples in stockPack, complete and ship sample requestsResponsible for product correlation administrationData entry of sieve analysis, customer requests, customer complaints, statistical analysis, etc.Assist in maintaining and updating QA SOP’s and customer specification sheetsMaintain product label approvals and perform monthly label auditsDistribute SSOP reportsDistribute USDA lettersPerform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent2 years office and/or applicable clerical work

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Lotus notesAbility to multi-task and prioritize work efficientlyAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateStrong attention to detail; excellent organization, follow-up and communication (written and verbal) skillsSound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently lifts up to 20 lbs and occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.Ability to work in all areas of the plant.Work is performed in an office related and/or manufacturing floor environment.Frequent use of fingers and hands to operate the computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment.Frequent walking to other departments in and out of the main building and the plant facility.
