Job Title: Truck Driver
Position Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt


Job Summary:  The CDL Driver will be based out of our local polyurethane foam manufacturing facility.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience: Must be at least 22 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Minimum Standards for Commercial Vehicle Driver Qualifications:

•    FMCSR 391.11 (2) - Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
•    Driver must have a current-valid driver’s license.
o    Equipment with a Gross Vehicle (GVWR) or Gross Combination (GCWR) Weight Rating of 26,001 lbs. Does not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
o    Equipment with a Gross Vehicle (GVWR) or Gross Combination (GCWR) Weight Rating of 10,001 lbs. To 26,000 lbs. Does not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). 
•    Driver cannot have any alcohol convictions within previous 10 years. No more than 1 offense in a lifetime. None in a CMV.
•    Driver cannot have any controlled substance convictions within 15 years. No more than 1 offense in a lifetime. None in a CMV.
•    Driver cannot have any previous employer positive controlled substance or alcohol test.
•    Driver cannot have any felonies within the previous 15 years. No more than 1 offense in a lifetime. None in a CMV. 
•    Driver cannot have any misdemeanors within the previous 5 years.
o    Excludes moving violations convictions. Moving violations convictions will be subject to the Driver Rating System. 
•    Driver must score an average or better on Driver Rating Point System.
•    Driver must successfully complete a driver’s road test examination. 
•    Driver must complete a pre-employment DOT controlled substance and a negative test result.
•    Driver must have a valid Medical Examination Report.
o    A new Medical Examination Report is required for all new hires and is to be administered by a Corporate Logistics-Compliance approved facility. 
•    Driver must meet all DOT & Company Policy Requirements. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Check delivery schedule and receive assignment from supervisor. (Starting times will vary with occasional overnight runs).
•    Drive tractor-trailer to assigned destination. Some destinations will require caution and good driving skills because of limited space and heavy traffic. Back trailers into dock or unloading area as instructed by the customer.
•    Unload product to dock or per customer's instructions.
•    Fill out the delivery ticket recording how much was delivered and getting the customer signature. Perform daily vehicle inspection as required by DOT regulations and record findings in a logbook. Check oil, fuel, tires, batteries, etc. on vehicle and report any defects to supervisor.
•    Maintain a driver's logbook as required by DOT regulations. (If delivery is over 100 miles).
•    Assist in the loading and unloading of trailers when needed.
•    Must have complete DOT file on record per company policy. Must pass a DOT physical prior to hire and repeat annually.
•    Shipping and Receiving Operations
•    Load outgoing trucks and pull finished goods tags.
•    Assist Lead Person with inventory.
•    Complete daily forklift inspection to include filling out required paperwork.
Education:

•    High School Diploma or Equivalent
•    Valid CDL Driver’s License required.


Experience:

•    Driver must have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial vehicle driving experience for long distance, local and yard positions. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•    Follow verbal instructions and simple math.
•    Required to read and understand English.
•    Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
•    Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
•    Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in a timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
•    Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.
•    Good attention to detail.
•    Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
