POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Welder, you will produce parts by use of ability to position, align, fit and welding of fabricated plates, structural, and shapes into fabricated products.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Read engineering prints and work orders to determine assembly and material requirements.

· Layout, torch, tack, or weld to specified dimensions as indicated by scale, rule or template.

· Measure work piece to determine dimensional accuracy.

· Clean-up as required to remove scale, slag, weld spatter and weld laps.

· Can operate any and all machines, from set-up operation on assigned production line.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma/GED.

· MIG Welding experience.

· Exceptional problem-solving skills: able to identify problems and implement corrective actions.

· Basic knowledge of bolted and welded steel tank.

· 1-year Industrial experience or training.

· Proficient in reading blueprints.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Ability to read and interpret CST and customer prints and documents.

· Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

· Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole, fractional, and decimal numbers.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

· Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

· Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.

· Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.

 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

· Advanced level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Walk, must be able to move about inside the manufacturing and office and occasionally on a construction site or outside of the manufacturing facility.

· Use hands/fingers to feel, must be able to operate computers, machinery, dimensional equipment.

· Sit and stand, must be able to work at a stationary desk that may require sitting or standing. Standing on concrete floor and uneven terrain will be required frequently.

· Climb and balance, must climb stairs and ladders.

· Stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl.

· Talk/hear, must be able to communicate with operators and management frequently and exchange accurate information.

· Lift and carry weights of 50lbs.
