**Job Type:** Regular **Time Type:** Part time **Work Shift:** Day (United States of America) **FLSA Status:** Non-Exempt **When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.** 30 hpw; 9a-7:30p flex; Mon-Sat w/call **Job Description:** **Duties/Responsibilities:** + Assess physical, mental, and psychological status of patient using age-appropriate knowledge within surgical specialty and patients served. + Plans, evaluates and supervises care of all patients assigned + Works collaboratively with other disciplines in care of patients to provide excellent service to patients served. + Coordinates and participates in formal and informal educational programs, in-services and performance improvement activities to improve technical skills within PACU + Responsible for continued learning and application to practice within PACU + Synthesizes patient care information to formulate appropriate nursing diagnosis. + Responsible to provide patient and family education to population served. + Work practice reflects philosophy purpose and policies of the hospital and department based upon evidence based best practices and ASPAN standards + Assumes call coverage within 30 minutes travel time from hospital. + Coordinates care in conjunction with Surgery to ensure safe and proactive patient planning by addressing needs. + Coordinates with Staff Ed to mentor new RNs within specialty. _It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required._ **Education/Experience Required:** + Graduate of accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. + Recent charge nurse experience in the 3 months. + Evidence of continuing education. + Demonstrated proficiency in basic nursing process. + Three years experience with proficiency in PACU + Proactive, interpersonal written and verbal communication skills-evidenced based and best practice. + Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to remove barriers, solve problems and plan service delivery. **Registration/Certification:** + Current RN Massachusetts License + BLS Certification maintained + ACLS Certification maintained + PALS Certification maintained **As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
