Waste Connections of Canada is the leader in non-hazardous solid waste management in North America. We are looking for an experienced **Heavy Duty Mechanic - 310T** for our Ottawa facility. **Location** : 1152 Kenaston Street Ottawa, ON K1B 3P5 **Pay rate** : $45.82/hr, overtime after 8.5 hrs daily (Licensed) **Pay rate** : $41.12/hr, overtime after 8.5 hrs daily (4th Year Apprentice) **Sign On Bonus:** $5000 **Shift** : 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM and 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, 2 week rotation schedule + Full Benefit package after 3 months of service + Boots provided twice annually + Clothing supplied + Coveralls supplied + Tool replacement **Responsibilities:** + Perform inspections on trucks and equipment + Repair and maintain all trucks and equipment + Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups. Complete work according to Preventive Maintenance Programs. + Ability to perform a preventive maintenance service, inspection identifying any repairing any deficiencies + Ability to teach apprentices skills of the trade and proper techniques of repair **Qualifications:** + Strong interpersonal, communication skills, and organizational abilities. + Maintains a Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman ticket or currently a 4th year apprentice. + Willing to work in a team atmosphere, ability to work independently. + Detailed and flexible approach to work assignments. + Accurately document work performed. + Complete work orders in a timely and accurate fashion. + Leads by example with integrity. + Maintain safe work habits and keep work area clean. + Participate in the elimination of safety hazards. + Own tools required. + A strong knowledge of Powertrains, Electrical troubleshooting, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic Systems and After treatment Systems. **Work Environment** : Job incumbents must be able to: + Work under adverse conditions including outside in any weather, around dirt, dust, and hazardous conditions such as broken glass and other hazards. + Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, smoke, gases odors and excessive noises. + Occasional exposure to chemicals, solvents, grease or oil and slippery surfaces. + Be available to work any shift, and sometimes weekends. **_Waste Connections of Canada/Enviro Connexions is an Equal Opportunity Employer_**
