Summary: + Assists the Admissions Office and Emergency Department with the assessment and evaluation of patients seeking psychiatric/behavioral healthcare in a managed care environment + Demonstrates competency in assessing children, adolescents and adults. Responsibilities: + Provides accurate assessment of patients requiring evaluation at the Princeton House Admissions Office and the University Medical Center at Princeton Emergency Department + Determines appropriate level of care required + Demonstrates competency in assessing children, adolescents, and adults + Demonstrates competency with suicide risk assessments and crisis intervention + Works with managed care companies to determine level of care needed by providing a clear and concise clinical picture + Facilitates the transfer of patients to Princeton House from UMCP ED, and also from UMCP ED to other facilities if required + Also assists in the transfer of patients from other facilities to Princeton House + Coordinates the involuntary commitment of patients evaluated in the Emergency Department and assists other staff to coordinate involuntary commitment of patients on the inpatient units + Assists as required in performing client assessments in the Admissions Office for emergency and unscheduled patients + Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect for all patients, their families, guests and representative of other organizations as well as fell employees, volunteers and medical staff in support of Princeton Health Care System's mission to provide consistent quality healthcare services in a professional, caring and responsive environment + Maintains appropriate clinical standards for this position by obtaining monthly supervision, participating in continuing education trainings and complying with licensure requirements + Is able to work independently and assist junior staff with consultation and support with difficult cases + Maintains standards of confidentiality Education or Equivalent Experience: + Master's Degree in appropriate Mental Health Discipline plus 2 or more years of post-master experience on an inpatient or crisis setting + OR Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience on a crisis or inpatient setting We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
