THREE COLOR WARD OPERATOR  2nd shift

SUMMARY:   Assists in the set up and assists in operating the machine to print and cut corrugated board by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Safely run machines and always follow all safety rules and practices. Count and stack finished product. Learn customer requirements and specifications by reading factor work orders, print cards, and design specifications; Utilize basic shop math. Accurately read tape measures, gauges and other test equipment. Coordinate activities with other machine crew members to efficiently set up and run orders. Maintain quality and production standards as required by the company. Continually monitor the quality and quantity of production. Maintain housekeeping continually during the assigned shift. Perform quality inspections and tests, and record findings. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision. Trains new crew members and ensures they meet production needs. Reports any crew issues to supervisor. Continuously aims to meet and when possible, exceed production goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   High school diploma or general education degree, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE  SKILLS:   Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 

MATHEMATICAL  SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and high places.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical current.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Base pay rate is 26.36 per hour.
