Job Description for 3D/Heterogeneous Integration Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
NY CREATES is looking for an experienced 3D/Heterogeneous Integration Engineer to support the AIM Photonics program. This position will be focused on development activities for next generation and custom silicon photonics and microelectronics technologies, including 3D & heterogeneous integration, interposers, and new material integration. While much of this position's effort will revolve around building 3D/HI products using NY CREATES 300mm Si and C4 fabs, there may also be a need for feasibility testing or chip-scale processing at other internal or external partner facilities. Furthermore, the novel nature of this group's work requires hands-on simulation, design, processing, inspection, testing, and/or development. You must be a self-starter who can identify problems early and drive solutions with cross-functional teams.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Development of 3D/HI processes and technologies from conceptualization, to simulation, design, process development, integration, testing, and delivery of hardware.
+ Interacting with customers or development partners to understand the specific requirements of a project and to update on challenges, risks, and progress.
+ Coordinating with vendors, such as the mask house, packaging, and any outsourced processes.
+ Integration support for the 3D/HI AIM Photonics programs.
+ Writing reports, papers, and/or patents as appropriate.
+ Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for 3D/Heterogenous Integration Engineer

+ Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, and be able to execute a variety of tasks on short notice is a must.
+ Candidate must exhibit the ability to work independently and as a part of a multifaceted team, as required.
+ The needs of the organization can change quickly and therefore the person hired for this position should be flexible and able to learn new topics quickly.
+ The candidate must have experience with hybrid bonding and 3D integration, including TSVs, wafer bonding, wafer thinning, or thin wafer processing.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.
