GovCIO is currently hiring for 3D Technical Artist to create artwork and assets for virtual reality (VR) apps and games. This position will be located in Pensacola, FL and will be a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

Designs and develops multimedia applications, systems and products involving computer graphics and interactive computing such as computer-based systems for virtual and augmented reality. Creates graphic representations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions. Incorporates software applications in multiple technology media systems, such as graphics, animations, text, and sound.  Performs 3D modeling, texturing, optimization for mobile VR applications and asset pipeline. Develops production plan based on clients needs. May plan and participate in equipment assembly, operation, and disassembly.

Responsible for meeting with clients and interpreting their requirements and needs.Generates and manipulates graphic images, animations, sound, text and video into consolidated and seamless multimedia programs.Expected to collaborate with or supervise a team of specialists of other fields such as sound, programming, and graphics.Must be familiar with multiple design and production applications and object-oriented coding.Remains abreast of technological advances in the field and identifies areas of effective use for the client.Responsible for input on testing and approving applications prior to release.Proficient in Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, GIMP, KRITA with a focus on low-poly molding and effiient texture.Real time workflow optimizationImplementation of 3D/2D character assetsCreation of animation blend treesReal time Shader creation and optimizationUnity tools R&D such as AR and VRProvide assistance between Engineers and artists to realize the overall visionOwn the real time look and feel development through shader creation, and lighting for real time use Qualifications

Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)

Clearance Required:NoneWorking within an IDE, specifically Visual Studio is a plusPrevious work as a solo artist on a small development teamAdvanced Knowledge of Unity3DKnowledge of C# and content creation tools such as Maya, Modo, Blender, Substance and PhotoshopOnline portfolio demonstrating relevant skills

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
