What you will do:
Job Summary: The 3PL Warehousing Category Manager will partner with leadership and peers to develop and implement 3PL distribution strategy and warehousing solutions. This position will work closely with internal customers to support all strategic business units (SBUs). This position is responsible for the scenario & business case development, bidding and sourcing activities to support 3PL implementation, contract approvals, contract renewals, and performance management of the 3PL suppliers. The value of the position will be demonstrated in the achievement of working collaboratively with the SBUs and managing the 3PL warehouse and distribution spend for all businesses in North America, while managing spend through lean principles, innovation, and introducing processes, technology and techniques that add efficiency to the global supply chain. This position is eligible for relocation with a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
Develop, recommend, and lead commercial efforts for 3PL (warehousing, shuttles, yard management, etc.) initiatives to include the following: Lead implementation of preferred provider program Primary point of contact for relationship management for 3PL providers Develop RFI based on customer needs Determine RFQ requirements Establish performance guidelines (contractual metrics, KPI’s) Define sourcing activities & selecting providers Develop budget and work with internal functional leadership teams Partner with SBU customers to approve out-of-scope costs through work order process or contract amendments Manage supplier performance and host quarterly business reviews with top suppliers Develop strategic initiatives for sourcing 3PL negotiation & contracting Mature the functional standard work Coordinate implementation between 3PL and SBU resources Develop and monitor the 3PL Provider Pool Update contract repository for any new or existing contracts Benchmark current inbound & outbound distribution networks and support business process changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these networks Utilize internal expertise, company initiatives and SBU customer requirements to develops decision model to determine optimal 3PL partners Work closely with Materials, Distribution, and Sales Leaders to ensure that product flow is supported by the 3PL distribution providers. Partner with Trane Technologies Real Estate team for internal warehouse solutions to include site searches, lease terms and contract negotiation. Partner with Trane Technologies Legal, Risk Management, and EHS teams for contract execution. Partner with Commodity Management for any Supplier Owned Managed Inventory (SOMI) needs Share best practices across all warehouse and distribution operations on: Process design Pick, Pack & Ship operation Systems usage KPI Reporting Create, develop, implement, and drive projects that deliver year over year productivity.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field 3+ years’ total experience in managing warehousing operations, contract management, material control, project management or other procurement functions. Familiarity with the Trane Technologies’ distribution network Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including planning, execution, and monitoring, even when the internal customers needs are unclear in the beginning stages. Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication, including the ability to present information clearly and effectively. Understanding of distribution concepts, material handling, process flows, RF scanning, distribution automation, cycle counting, thru-put strategies, etc. Basic knowledge of procurement, transportation management, distribution management, 3PL commercial management, warehouse and logistics modeling, contract execution, material flow/control and budgetary analysis needed. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that drive meaningful change. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Power Point. Ability to travel up to 20%.Key Competencies:

Base Pay Range: $95,000 - $125,000 Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
