Black & McDonald’s Southern Ontario FMO team is growing! The 3rd Class Stationary Engineer is located in Downtown Toronto and typically reports directly to the Chief Engineer. Please be aware that this position does not provide the requisite hours for steam time.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Operate steam boilers, air compressors, water softeners, air dryers, pumps, and fansResponsible for the safe operation of the steam plantPerform all tasks related to the safe and efficient operation of the steam boiler plant including repairs and maintenancePerform routine inspection and testing of equipment to ensure proper operationPerform minor repair and general maintenance dutiesDocument air compressor readings, all plant steam produced and consumption, and gas consumptionTrack and log all gas, water, and hydro readingsPerforms water analysis on boilersComplete daily log reportMonitor and maintain water treatment and boiler systemsTest run the safety and standby equipment weekly, UPS, and generator testingProvide access and assistance to sub-trades as requiredOther duties as required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a 3rd Class Power Engineer’s Certificate

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 1 year of operating and maintenance experienceCritical environment experience preferred
