3rd Shift- Injection Molding Process Tech

Position Summary

The Injection molding process technicians will maintain injection molding machines and observe the continuous use of the molding machines to guarantee proper operation. This position is also responsible for correcting product quality issues, malfunctions and notifying the proper personnel when problems arise. In addition, the process technician will perform and facilitate routine and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure proper operation.

Role and Responsibilities

Third Shift

Key responsibilities are different by job levels as following:

1. Level 1 Process Technician: 
At this level the requirements include:
Ability to perform Mold Setter 1 and 2 requirements.
Ability to start and stop injection molding machines
Ability to perform basic resin room functions:  scan and load resin into correct hoppers.  Change materials to selected molding machines.
Possess a basic understanding of the molding process.

2. Level 2 Process Technician:
At this level the requirements include:
Perform all of the Level 1 requirements.
Perform basic trouble shooting of mold processing by adjusting parameters like mold temperature, injection profile, and barrel heats.
Performs basic robot pick and place modifications.

3. Level 3 Process Technician:
At this level the requirements include:
Perform all of the Level 2 requirements.
Perform advanced trouble shooting of the injection process, material delivery system, and support equipment.
Has the ability to establish molding processes on new or changed molds.
Can construct EOAT and write robot programs on new or existing molds.

4. Level 4, Process Technician:
At this level the requirements include:
Perform all of the Level 3 requirements.
Has an understanding injection machine and support equipment design and repair

5. Level 5, Process Technician:
At this level the requirements include:
Perform all of the Level 4 requirements.
Has an understanding of mold design, tooling repair and modification.
Has advanced troubleshooting of all injection molding equipment.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma
• Experience: Job level 1 (0 years), Job level 2 (2 years), Job level 3 (3 years), level 4 (4 years), level 5 (5+ years)
• Knowledge: Injection molding processes, quality control, machines and tools,  maintenance, operation monitoring
• Skills: Problem solving skills and communication skills. Prevantive Maintenance, Trouble shooting
• Physical requirement: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly walk and stand.
