Element has an opportunity for qualified candidates to fulfill available positions in our Ultrasonic Inspector department for 3rd shift Trainee, Level I and Level II Inspectors. Level I/Trainee candidates will be considered. Completion of applicable classroom time, and practical hours (OJT) to achieve Level II certification with in the first year of employment, is required. Candidate must be available to attend evening classes as they are scheduled for the duration of training. Training on first shift may be required 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and then will move to second 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. or third 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Responsibilities Perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specificationsAccurately record results and associated data of nondestructive tests and evaluationsMaintain familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Level I technicians.Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Actively contribute to company safety culture by observing all company safety policies and procedures

High school diploma/GED required
Technical/mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency preferred
Written Communication: ability to read and interpret information, write legibly, take accurate measurements from a tape measure, present numerical data effectively, and edit work for correct spelling and grammar
Able to prioritize critical work activities and use time effectively
Self-motivated, with the ability to problem solve and analyze information skillfully
Ability to clearly communicate with team members, supervisors, and all others throughout the organization in a professional manner
Dependability: consistently punctual, reliable transportation to work, willing to follow instructions, responsive to management direction, and receptive to feedback to improve job performance
Quality of work: demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in monitoring own work to ensure quality and ability to maintain confidentiality of customer sensitive data
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Sufficient vision, either natural or corrected, with ability to pass bi-annual vision exams
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Sufficient manual dexterity and personal mobility to allow individual to perform daily job responsibilities
Able to withstand working in plant/and or shop areas around production equipment with high noise level
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
