Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Controller, the Accountant will perform accounting activities to ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate policies and external auditors. The accountant will have an active role in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, monthly closing, journal entries and account analysis.  The opportunity to be involved in cross-departmental collaboration, enhancing leadership and communication skills

Job Responsibilities

•    Accounts Payable:  Vouch invoices in accordance with a 3 way match process & administer payments to supply base
•    Accounts Receivable: Complete daily cash applications and invoicing.
•    Monthly Close / Financial Reporting:  Prepare and post journal entries, prepare account reconciliations.   Identify and resolve financial accounting issues.
•    Audits:  Assist with external and internal audits / reviews. Complete requested materials timely. 
•    Internal Control: Evaluate and document procedures and workflow to achieve accurate and efficient accounting systems, safeguard company assets and ensure transactions are recorded properly.  
•    Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedure. 
•    Perform other related duties as required by Controller

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelors of Science in Accounting or Finance, or
•    2+ years of experience in the accounting field, including experience in a manufacturing industry 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including IFRS.
•    Knowledge of SAP
•    Strong analytical and accounting skills.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including email.
•    Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word and Access.
•    Intermediate to advanced knowledge of fully integrated ERP software packages.
•    Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment

 

Physical Requirements

Standing and walking (at least 7hrs per day) Ability to carry and lift up to 25 pounds Use of hands for fine dexterity, light and strong grasping (at least 7hrs per day)
