A&P Mechanic
Job Title: A & P Mechanic

Job Description

This position is based exclusively at our San Diego line maintenance station. The primary responsibilities include repairing and maintaining aircraft/components per customer requirements, performing maintenance meet and greets, and communicating with flight crews about any inbound issues and performing necessary repairs. The mechanic will conduct walkarounds to identify and address any maintenance issues, perform or defer repairs as required, and work independently. Clear communication with maintenance control and the ability to handle multiple discrepancies at one time are essential.

ResponsibilitiesAlways maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.Proficiency with computers.General knowledge of federal regulations.Ability to read and understand blueprints and aircraft wiring diagrams.Legally operate a motorized vehicle.Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems.Perform all airframe and powerplant repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements.Remove and disassemble defective parts; assemble and install replacement parts; test aircraft systems.Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments.Complete all required maintenance records accurately.Accurately record time worked on work orders.Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints.Tow and park aircraft.Perform other aircraft maintenance work as required.Adapt to high-stress environments and handle issues with little to no support from additional manpower.Troubleshoot and learn on the job effectively.Clear and effective communication with aircraft personnel.Navigate aircraft maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals, and wiring diagrams as needed.Essential SkillsCommercial experience needed.High School Diploma or Equivalent.Possess a Valid A&P License.Gen fam with the A320 series.Excellent Communication Skills.Line maintenance experience required.Comfortable working independently with little to no support.Experience and/or training on at least 2 aircraft types - A319, A320, A321, and/or B737, B767, B777 & E190 aircraft preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with commercial aircraft maintenance.Ability to handle high-stress environments.Proficient in using power tools and equipment.Ability to operate motorized vehicles.Why Work Here?

The goal of these positions is contract to hire with added benefits upon conversion to a direct employee, including a $5K sign-on bonus, flight benefits, PTO, paid holidays, medical and dental benefits, 401K matching, and a pay increase upon direct hire.

Work Environment

This position is located at the San Diego International Airport. Flexibility in scheduling is mandatory, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. The candidate's schedule will likely be a split shift. Mechanics should have some tools, but specialty tooling is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
