An A&P Mechanic III job is available with our client in Englewood, CO. As an A&P Mechanic III you will be using your skills and expertise to perform basic repairs, replacement and maintenance of the key airframe and powerplant components of aircrafts. To be considered for this role, you will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience. Must be a US Citizen with an Active Security Clearance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for repairs, replacement and maintenance of the key components of aircrafts.
* Perform the necessary checks in regards to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including the testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts.
* Use a variety of tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced, and ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work, all while maintaining safety and cleanliness of the hanger or workshop.
* Demonstrate knowledge in one of the three main components of aviation maintenance including airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or Airframe & Power plant (A&P) components.
* Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
* Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
* Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
* Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
* Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
* Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
* Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
* Frequently exposed to loud noises.
* Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.
* Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials.
* Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.
* Performs aviation related duties.
* Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be a US Citizen
* Current Active Secret Clearance
* High school diploma or GED equivalent and at typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
* A higher level degree may substitute for experience OR
* Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
* Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations
* Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
* Must have own tools in good working order
* Ability to speak, read and write in English
* Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test
* Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
* Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
* Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends
* Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
* Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
