The **DuPont Electronic Polymers (DEP),** **Electronics & Industrial, Manufacturing Technology Team** has an opening for an Automation & Process Control Technician. The team provides leveraged support for the DEP, **Dayton, Ohio** manufacturing site worldwide. This role is an on-site role, with an expectation of up to 10% domestic travel for training and development.

The Automation & Process Control Technician (A&PC) provides automation and process control technical services on site expertise and support to the manufacturing organization to enable continuous improvement in the asset’s control systems. The A&PC Tech applies control system design principles and knowledge to support the development, implementation, commissioning and validation of the successful operation of applications. The A&PC Tech will lead challenging and exciting programs geared towards improving safety, reliability, capacity, and cost. The tech will be exposed to multiple manufacturing processes and provide day-to-day support as plant operations require.
As an Automation & Process Control Technician, you will:
+ Apply troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of problem areas in A&PC systems, applications and supporting networks.
+ First point of contact with Operations to identify, resolve and follow up on A&PC applications and systems related problems (aligned with plant operations)
+ Support A&PC related Operator training on process control platform, operator interface, use of systems.
+ 1st line monitoring and troubleshooting by applying system diagnostics.
+ Coordinate between support functions and Operations.
+ Responsible for preventive predictive maintenance, patches, updates and upgrades.
+ Utilize available techniques and tools to optimize plant Process Control systems/ applications and prevention of unplanned events.
+ Implement improvement opportunities defined by Operations and captured in MOC.
+ Design and commission control systems by configuring/developing DCS and/or PLC software
+ Automate and manage existing automation of process functions
+ Develop HMI graphics that enable efficient technician response and knowledge of the process operation.
+ Maintain process control hardware – this includes spares and inventory of critical DCS components
+ Maintain HMI and quality clients/servers – this includes automated gage control and inspections systems
+ Troubleshoot interconnectivity issues between controls systems on the lines
+ Troubleshooting and maintaining field devices, PLCs, and drives
+ Provide training and capability building for the maintenance teams
+ Support/drive capital improvement projects
+ Software updates/changes and graphics modifications
+ Maintain and support the creation of back-ups for critical software/equipment for key devices in areas of responsibility
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent
+ 5 years manufacturing experience (may make an exception based on Electrical and Computing background/skills)
+ Advanced computing skills preferred
+ Able to read and interpret drawings/prints/schematics/manuals
+ 24/7/365 manufacturing support, primary contact for hardware and network communication issues (may have some IT overlap)
+ Rotational on-call list for weekends, will be identified as a primary back-up for other team members
+ Knowledge of Scada (GE Proficy iFIX, Graphic development, Database management, VBA)
+ Knowledge of PLC’s (Siemens S7, Comfort panels – HMI, Allen-Bradley (PLC5, SCL 500, Control Logix)
+ Knowledge of SQL (Database management, Interfacing with other systems, Replication services)
+ Knowledge of Networks
+ Knowledge of IP.21, Traksys, etc
+ Demonstrated expertise in DCS/PLC architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting. Emerson DeltaV and/or Rockwell PLC is preferred.
