**JOB PURPOSE:**
CHC Head of Finance Operations (Country / MCO) will provide Account-to-Report (A2R) processing and related services with end-to-end accountability. A2R GBS Shared Services Hubs in three regions (Americas, Europe, Asia) will provide processing capabilities and expertise, and Head of Finance Operations (HFO) in the country/ MCO will provide a front-line local service in the following areas:
1) A2R Processes
• Assets Accounting Management
• Tax and Interco accounting
• Treasury accounting
• GL accounts closing and reporting
2) Transversal GBS processes (CI2C, S2V, HRS)
• Coordination of transversal matters with respective service lines’ country/ MCO partners
• Point of contact for local CHC management on GBS related matters
• Participating country committees and following up on action plans with respective service lines’ country/ MCO partners
3) Manages HFOs in other countries or MCOs
The purpose of this role is to:
• Responsible for all accounting aspects of the LE including accounting topics related to Tax and Treasury
• Responsible for accuracy and completeness of financial data at LE level, by applying CHC’s guidelines and accounting standards. Reviews and monitors technical accounting rules implementation, controls and compliance
• Accountable for sign-off both local and corporate financial reporting: accuracy and fair representation of the legal entity(ies) financial statements and corporate reporting (Solar), and all the underlying processes that support the generations of the financial statements (including SOX certifications)
• Be the A2R partner to the local business and provide value add services to key stakeholders through proximity, knowledge of local business, culture and language
• Jointly with the Hub Shared Service Centres, deliver end to end services
• Facilitate resolution of operational issues in an effective and timely manner
• Monitor operational KPIs and compliance with Sanofi/CHC policies and guidelines
• Contribute to local Accounting Committees and other platforms of A2R Governance
• Supervise the front-line A2R teams in countries/MCO in scope
• Drive continuous improvement
CHC Head of Finance Operations (Country / MCO) reports to A2R GBS Regional Head
He / she works closely with CHC Head of Finance Performance, Treasury, Tax, Customer Service, Internal Control, other GBS departments, including A2R teams in the Hub, peers in the region, Global A2R Global Process Excellence and respective A2R SMEs.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:**
Operation
• Manage the relationship with key stakeholders at cluster or country level and provide front line services as per Service Level Agreements
• Review, validate and provide local expertise in
o Asset Accounting Management – inventory costing, valuation and depreciation, asset life cycle management, inventory follow-up and month end reporting
o Tax and Interco services – calculate tax and prepare tax returns
o Treasury – entries relating to financial instruments, forex net position calculation
o Financial closing and reporting – monthly closing activities, external financial reporting
• Ensure compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements
• Monitor operational KPIs to pro-actively manage execution issues
• Supervise and coach A2R Accounting managers in countries in scope
o Provide expertise and coaching
o Anticipate workload and allocate resources for effective and efficient delivery
o Select and hire employees
o Evaluate employee performance, determine training needs, develop talent
o Address performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions
o Motivate and reward employees by recommending salary increases, bonuses and promotions
• Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7)
Continuous improvement
• Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities and potential automation
• Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition
• Participate in global projects as required
**EXPECTED SKILLS:**
Functional
• Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end A2R processes and GBS organization
• Expert level knowledge of A2R processes at transaction level:
o Asset Accounting Management
o Tax & Interco accounting
o Treasury
o Financial closing and reporting
• Provide summarized overview of A2R end to end outcomes to key stakeholders
• Ability to drive a compliance culture and rigor
Technical
• Hands-on experience of SAP and satellite tools (Cadency/ Blackline)
• Digital acumen to leverage IT to drive process simplification
Interpersonal
• Strong customer orientation with ability to understand and meet their requirements
• Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner
• Team player, cooperating with direct and remote teams with an end to end service delivery mindset
• Good communication skills
Leadership
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and processes
• Ability to motivate the team to deliver high quality service and customer satisfaction
• Strong communication skills and ability to drive change
• Committed and focused on results delivery
**About You**
• Graduate or Master’s degree in finance or accounting
• 10-15 years hands on experience in Account to Report processes in an international, multicultural, complex environment
• Experience of managing teams remotely
• Fluent in English
