About the Role & Team:

How do ABC News programs, both on broadcast television and in the streaming space, fare among different audiences and how can they do better? 

Our team works across the ABC News organization to understand these questions and more through a combination of measurement reporting using quantitative methodologies! If selected for this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Research.

What You Will Do:

This internship, supporting the ABC News Consumer Insights team, explores the attitudes and behaviors that contribute to news viewership as well as reporting on that viewership across platforms.

Assisting the Managers on projects specific to ABC News programs and propertiesAiding in quantitative research:  utilizing software to generate data, data analysis, report-making, and presentations for clientsMonitoring several sources of syndicated research and synthesizing into digestible reports for ABC News partnersCultivating insights on different audience groups across various demographics and diverse audiences to advise viewer growth strategiesHelping to create a set of templates to aid in data visualization and presentationsAssisting in creating and maintaining ratings reports & analysis on a regular basis

Required Qualifications & Skills:

A strong passion for understanding the motivations and behaviors related to news viewershipExperience creating aesthetically pleasing Excel and PowerPoint documents, emails, and Word documentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsBasic knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointStrong time management and organization skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to prepare analyses under time critical deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skillsA strong interest in News and Entertainment programs!
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Tableau, or similar data visualization/analysis toolsPrevious experience in an analytical field, preferably in news and/or media or an analytical field
 

Education:

Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.Be at least 18 years of agePossess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information:

Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internshipThe approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 through January 2026Availability to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship, preferably 9 am-5 pm PT, Monday - Friday.Able to provide own housing for the duration of internship program in the New York, NY areaAble to provide reliable transportation to/from work in the New York, NY area

The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.00 per hour.
