Job Description & Summary

This role will provide back office support to the Independence and Conflicts Team within the Risk and Quality (R&Q) group in several PwC firms. You will perform risk assessments, conduct conflict and background checks of new clients to capture potential client acceptance risks that may result in any form of reputational risk, independence risk and  conflicts of interest. You will have the opportunity to work with the territory R&Q team in analyzing conflicts, providing well-thought risk remediation approaches and suggesting corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that the firm is not exposed to any form of reputational risks and prevent it from engaging with potential troublesome practice clients and accurately check clients against sanctions lists i.e. UK Sanctions, US Sanctions, Australian DFAT alerts.

Ensure that the firm adheres to internal regulatory standards such as ethical wall requirements, exclusivity policy and other related requirements.

Ensure that confidentiality of high risk engagements are kept while successfully identifying possible conflicts with previous and/or ongoing engagements/clients.

Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of various services provided by the firm i.e. due diligence, advisory, consulting, legal services, etc. including the potential conflicts and risks involved in each specific nature of service, and accurately follow the procedures/considerations in handling risks of potential engagements.

Demonstrate working knowledge of the various features of the systems and databases used by the team for relationship and conflicts checks.

Assists clients in ad hoc requests such as performing DB search for a bulk number of entities and collating previous engagements to a specific client.

Demonstrate effective communication skills to successfully solicit information from client facing teams, while ensuring non-disclosure of information of related high risk engagements.

Delivers well-written analysis which encapsulates all the potential risks, suggested approach to avoid or mitigate these risks to be able to effectively communicate constructive resolutions on each specific risks.

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Experience dealing with administrative work, recording, reporting, data analysis and monitoring.

Ability to identify potential risk in any business process.

Strong independent decision-making ability and comfort with issue spotting.

Strong attention to detail.

Working knowledge on G Suite and MS Office.

Other Capabilities:

Ability to understand complex business scenarios and offer effective solutions, including negotiation.

Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a high pressure deals environment.

Be able to demonstrate resilience and manage conflicts positively.

Ability and confidence in working and communicating with team members of all level.
