We are looking for a Full-Time Academic Achievement Coordinator I at McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston. The person in this position oversees the administrative coordination and progression of doctoral students, ensuring compliance with program requirements and milestones while planning student events, supporting faculty committees, and managing accreditation-related reporting. The role also involves student recruitment, alumni tracking, and providing essential operational support to advance program goals. Experience with MyUTH, GradCAS, and Simplicity are preferred.

Develops, monitors, and manages various aspects of academic achievement to include the capstone experience, milestones such as qualifying exams, and professional development offerings. Assists in establishing new academic partnerships.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Coordinates the administrative infrastructure and enrollment management for full-time and part-time doctoral students. Ensures completion of all academic requirements for doctoral program milestones, including didactic coursework, qualifying exams, advancement to candidacy, and dissertation defenses, prior to program completion. Plans and organizes student events such as New Student Orientation, Student Town Halls and Poster Sessions. Provides administrative support during faculty committee meetings, including qualifying exam processes, managing Canvas courses and grading, and communicating Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) policies and procedures related to program progression and completion. Oversees the completion and review of annual Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for doctoral students in collaboration with the Admissions, Progression, and Graduation Committee. Supports alumni tracking and reports on student learning outcomes for institutional and accreditation compliance purposes. Represents UTHealth at recruitment events such as secondary schools, colleges, and fairs, providing information to prospective students, parents, and school administrators. Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and institutional goals.Certification/Skills:
Strong project management skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Good working knowledge of management information systems, word processing, database and spreadsheet applications. Experience utilizing MyUTH, GradCAS, and/or Simplicity is preferred.Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.Minimum Experience:
Three years of related experience in an academic setting.Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
