Arts & Science is seeking a dynamic Academic Advisor to join the College of Arts & Science Academic Advising team. The Academic Advisor, Advising Operations is a member of the College Advising Team. Reporting to the Director of Advising Operations, this position advises a caseload of 350 undergraduate students, oversees the College's walk-in advising and related front office operations and is responsible for supporting and collaborating on initiatives to streamline CAS advising operations, calendar and staff training. Coordinate advising calendar and newsletter content in partnership with advising teams and communications staff.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts discipline or relevant field.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years of relevant experience in advising, programming development and implementation and relevant experience in advising operations & data manipulation.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years of related experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to advise and support diverse student populations and have a strong commitment to liberal arts education. Ability to communicate effectively to individuals at all levels.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of advising data systems (i.e. UDW+, Albert, NYU Connect), google sheets/excel skills, and student worker supervision experience preferred.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
