Posting Summary
Advise, providing guidance and direct support to Honors College students in person, via phone, and electronically; perform advising and enrollment management functions that contribute to student success, satisfaction, and retention in the Honors College. Implement a holistic advising program, which is curricular and co-curricular in scope and designed to promote student learning and development. Maintain current knowledge of Honors College and university policies and procedures, academic programs and other programs and services. Develop advising resources and materials, and function as a liaison with college and university faculty and staff. Advocate for students’ best interests. Work with others to develop student policies and procedures. Maintain records of student interactions in electronic systems. Make referrals to on-campus resources and evaluate outcomes. Participate in recruiting and retention activities including Admitted Student Visit Days and Honors College activities for UVM Orientation.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in higher education, counseling, student affairs, or related field. Experience working in academic advising, preferably in a college or university setting. Knowledge of higher education policies, academic requirements, and student development theories. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse student populations. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for high-achieving students. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and student needs.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with learning management systems and advising software is preferred (e.g. Banner, Navigate, Suitable).
Anticipated Pay Range $53,000 to $55,000

We are hiring multiple identical positions.
Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position
