As an Academic Advisor, you will provide personalized academic guidance to undergraduate students and assist these students in navigating degree requirements, course selection, and career pathways. Opportunities to contribute: + Deliver academic advising to current and prospective undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences + Review degree plans and guide students on academic, probationary, and financial concerns + Advise students on how best to fulfill degree requirements + Develop and implement advising programs and workshops + Counsel students who are looking to change their major + Stay up to date on student policies, deadlines, procedures, appeals processes + Refer students to appropriate resources when needed + Work to improve academic advising services to enhance retention and graduations rates + Assist with New Student Conferences + Develop community within and lifelong affinity for the College of Arts & Sciences Qualifications: Academic Advisor III + Bachelor’s degree + Four years of academic advising within higher education A well-qualified candidate for any of these positions will also possess: + Knowledge of Texas A&M advising programs & systems such as Compass and Howdy, as this position advises on degree programs, course planning and selections, and career and academic goals + Master’s degree or above in education, counseling, or general subject area of placement + NACADA or TEXAAN certificate of participation + Experience as an Academic Advisor at Texas A&M University Starting Salary: Academic Advisor III: $54,450.00 What you need to do: Apply!
