Faculty/Unit: The School of Continuing Studies, Administration & Governance Domain
The School of Continuing Studies (SCS) at McGill University invites applications for the position of full-time Academic Associate, International Partnerships and Special Projects. This is a full-time, unranked academic, non-tenure-track position with an initial appointment of two (2) years, reporting directly to the Academic Director of the Administration & Governance domain. Hiring is dependent upon final budgetary approval.

We seek a colleague to become a member of the full-time academic staff and help us achieve identified goals for innovation and growth. Desired start date is February 2025; however, the actual start date will depend on the timing of hiring and availability of the successful candidate.
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the domain director, and in collaboration with colleagues across units at SCS, the successful applicant will oversee the design, development, delivery, maintenance, and growth of a portfolio of international offerings for both established and new international partner institutions. Please note that this position is not a teaching role, however the successful candidate could be called upon to teach in exceptional circumstances.
Representative responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
In collaboration with the other team members in A&G, work to maintain and nurture existing relationships with international partner institutions.
Develop new international offerings and customized projects as needed.
Grow the partnership base in designated growth areas in consultation with relevant academic domains, the International Strategy Advisory Committee, and Student Success and Enrolment Management, and the Dean’s leadership team.
Participate in the governance of the domain and School, work at the School’s International Strategy Advisory Committee.
Contribute to the drafting and development of various proposals including funding opportunities.
Collaborate closely with other units and relevant faculty and staff colleagues across the School and McGill University.
Contribute to the School’s and University’s strategic goals and values, such as community and international engagement.
Oversee the creation and management of necessary contractual agreements.
Store, manage and retrieve important partnerships data.
Actively promote international offerings to grow enrollment.
Education/Experience Required:
Has obtained a doctorate or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience in working with international institutions.
Demonstrated experience in working with academic institutions.
Experience in curriculum development is an asset.
Experience in business development in an academic context is a strong asset.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of other languages is a strong asset.
Demonstrated ability to work in a MS Office environment; knowledge of Excel is an asset
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team across different units.
Proven ability to work autonomously and to meet deadlines.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy required.
