No Duties and Responsibilities The Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine Department of Surgery is seeking an Academic Burn Surgeon. We are looking for a dedicated and talented surgeon to join us our faculty at the Loyola Burn Center and contribute to our mission of providing the highest quality of burn care available for individuals suffering from burn and soft tissue injuries, while actively working to improve the current standard of care. 

Located in Maywood, Illinois on the western edge of Chicago, the Loyola Burn Center is the largest burn center in Illinois, treating thousands of burn patients a year with over 650 inpatient admissions. The center is verified by the ABA and ACS and holds a special distinction in the state of Illinois as the Illinois State Burn Center. We offer comprehensive burn care to adult and pediatric patients, provided by a team of exceptional professionals from all relevant disciplines including general surgery residents, advance practice providers, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, basic scientists, psychologists and social workers all of whom are dedicated to and specialized in burn care. The clinical and educational programs are closely aligned with the Burn Shock Trauma Research Institute (BSTRI). The BSTRI programs include ongoing federally funded basic, translational and clinical trial activities in wound healing, sepsis, acute kidney injury and alcohol associated injuries.

A medical degree and board certification/eligibility in Plastic or General Surgery with added qualifications in surgical critical care and completion of a burn-care fellowship. This is a full-time faculty position and salary will be commensurate with experience. Interested candidates should also have a strong interest in teaching residents and medical students and the successful candidate will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
