The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Academic Operations Manager responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of all academic support operations within the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, Arts. The incumbent will be a key administrative leader within the unit, responsible for supervising and training all academic operations staff and serving as the unit’s advisor to both internal and external contacts in relation to academic affairs. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that tasks such as course scheduling, teaching assignments, book orders, faculty recruitment, faculty onboarding, faculty promotion, faculty contract renewals, ancillary and summer budget preparation and submission, and other academic-related duties are completed on time and in the most efficient manner within the unit. Responsible for creating and/or modifying internal procedures related to these tasks in order to ensure optimal operational efficiencies are met within the unit.
Manages academic program operations and assists with enrollment or other similar functions for assigned college, campus, or department. Coordinates training and development for faculty and advisers and provides academic advising to assigned students. Coordinates research within the department as well as recruitment activities.

The successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc.
