Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Open Rank & Title Nuclear Engineering Location College Station, TX Open Date 1/14/2025 Position ID 155792 Description The Department of Nuclear Engineering, College of Engineering, at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time, open-rank academic professional track (non-tenured) position at the lecturer, senior lecturer, instructional assistant professor, instructional associate professor, instructional professor, visiting assistant professor, visiting associate professor, visiting professor, associate professor of practice, professor of practice, visiting associate professor of practice, or visiting professor of practice, with a 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning August 1, 2025. The successful applicant will be required to teach undergraduate students in courses in the nuclear engineering discipline including, but not restricted to health physics, radiation physics, nuclear reactor theory, radiation detection, nuclear fusion and environmental nuclear engineering. The successful applicant is expected to participate in all aspects of the department’s activities and serve the profession. Qualifications For appointments at Visiting Associate Professor of Practice, Visiting Professor of Practice, Associate Professor of Practice, or Professor of Practice level, applicants must have at the minimum, a master's level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field, or have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title. For appointments at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline, or a master's level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field, or have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title. For appointments at the Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, and Visiting Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline.
