Position Summary

Responsible for all facets of faculty affairs and the management of academic faculty appointments, non-faculty academic appointments and NYPH medical staff credentialing within the department.

Job Responsibilities Oversees the department’s faculty recruitment, appointment and promotion process. Ensures completeness and accuracy of forms including curriculum vitae and bibliography. Maintains department's academic appointment database. Responsible for managing and overseeing all faculty and non-faculty academic appointments, reappointments, promotions and/or terminations within the Medical College and NYPH. Coordinates and prepares visa/immigration paperwork. Prepares appointment packets and material for submission, includes reviewing promotion packets for academic metrics. Prepares promotion correspondence on behalf of the department’s appointment and promotion committee. Writes Chair’s promotion letters submitted to the Dean’s Committee of Review. Drafts all academic appointment letters and change of salary letters. Coordinates the confirmation of funding source, termination of payroll and new hires. Serves as liaison to HR Immigration Office and/or immigration attorneys. Stays abreast of visas or permanent residency policies and laws. Prepares visa/immigration submissions and submits financial transactions related to application fees. Orients new fellows, faculty, and/or visiting professors and assists them in obtaining housing. Responsible for managing hospital initial credentialing and reappointments for new attendings, physician assistants and/or nurse practitioners. Ascertains compliance of all credentials. Oversees quality assurance programs and activities following institutional, state and/or federal quality operating standards. Monitors the same for continued quality improvement. Ensures readiness/compliance and addresses/resolves issues uncovered during regulatory visits/audits. Generates reports for analysis, faculty listings and recruitment data as requested. Reviews and updates annual staff list; submits necessary reappointment or termination forms. Coordinates non-acgme fellowship appointments and moonlighting sessional appointments as needed. Coordinates observers and visiting appointments when applicable. Education Bachelor's Degree Experience

Approximately 2-3 years prior related experience and knowledge of an academic setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to solve problems using analytical and systematic methodologies. Demonstrated leadership in developing and managing position requirements including the ability to supervise and motivate staff and develop performance measures to maximize productivity and work quality. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure; ability to prioritize competing demands and complete action items efficiently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
