Academic Student Support Program Specialist (Assistant Director of Community College Partnership) **POSITION DETAILS** **“At Baruch College we believe that student success is everyone’s responsibility”** The Assistant Director (AD) is responsible for supporting pipeline programs between Baruch and its community college partners. The AD’s primary objective is to coordinate the program enrollment and implementation of the Baruch Business Academy initiative (hereafter referred to as Academy). The Academy offers a transparent, predictable, and smooth path for students to transition from a community college to Baruch, and successfully complete the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business. This position reports to the Director of Community College Partnerships at the Zicklin School of Business. **Duties:** **Academy Program Recruitment & Enrollment** • Host in-person and virtual information sessions for students at partner institutions with the goal of recruiting new participants into the Academy • Coordinate the admissions process for Academy students to Baruch and Zicklin, in partnership with Baruch Transfer Admissions • Maintain database of Academy students **Campus Partnership Stewardship** • Maintain relationships with individual special programs staff and other organizational units at partner community colleges • Report to campus partners on Academy student enrollment and academic progress data • Serve as Zicklin and Academy representative and liaison with partner colleges • Foster cross-campus connections and collaboration among faculty and staff at partner colleges and Baruch **Academy Student Support** • Coordinate all communications with Academy students including data-driven proactive outreach and response to student inquiries • Provide academic guidance for Academy students transitioning to Baruch • Implement the Academy student feedback survey and analyze results • Create student-facing resources (eg sample transfer maps) **Programming for Academy students** • Prepare and facilitate Academy program events • Coordinate with Baruch departments such as the Starr Career Development Center to include Academy students in programming for Baruch students **Peer Mentor Program Coordination** • Coordinate the peer mentor program component including team meetings, outreach plans, reporting, and professional development of student mentors • Coordinate the interview and new hire processes for peer mentors **Program Development Support** • Represent the Baruch Business Academy program at various external events • Support the Director in Academy expansion efforts • Support the Director with program documentation **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required. **Preferred Qualifications:** The ideal candidate should demonstrate or possess: • Experience fostering inclusive programming and supporting students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective communication and collaboration with students, partners, and internal stakeholders • Experience with tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Qualtrics to analyze students’ academic progress and program engagement, and feedback, and making data-informed decisions to improve student support • Confidence in learning and utilizing new technology platforms to track student academic progress and program engagement • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills to manage a large workload, multiple priorities, and strict deadlines • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Provides educational development activities supporting a targeted academic program. - Assists in developing and preparing program offerings, curricula, guidelines, and related communications - Promotes program and advises students and College stakeholders on services, policies, and procedures - Advises faculty, counselors, tutors, administrators and others on program goals, activities, and best practices - Provides student services such as workshops, seminars, and advising sessions - Coordinates efforts of faculty, staff, and other service providers to monitor and assess utilization, student progress, and program effectiveness - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** Higher Education Assistant **FLSA** Exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** $70,238-$79,188; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
