Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in audit and assurance focus on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information enhancing the credibility and reliability of this information with a variety of stakeholders. They evaluate compliance with regulations including assessing governance and risk management processes and related controls.

In sustainability assurance, you will focus on obtaining limited or reasonable assurance about whether sustainability reporting, for selected KPIs or as a whole,is free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud (that can take the form of "greenwashing") or error, and to issue an auditor’s opinion, in order to help organisations and their stakeholders build trust in their sustainability strategy and performance while complying with relevant regulations. Your work will include assessing the existence of of gaps between disclosure and sustainability reporting frameworks, assessing materiality analysis and reporting process, testing data quality and controls.

Those in sustainability reporting and assurance at PwC will focus on:  

Increasing the capability of clients' reporting function to meet regulation and stakeholder needs for trusted transparent reporting, covering activities such as scoping, materiality, gap assessments and offering technical interpretation of regulatory or voluntary frameworks/ standards. Calculating the GHG Inventory for the client and prepare Inventory Management Plans. Helping provide independent assurance over sustainability metrics and frameworks/ standards (voluntary and regulated).

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Business Administration/Management, Computer Science, Information Technology/ Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Law/ Science, Finance, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Sustainability and/or other relevant degrees. Minimum 4 years of financial and/ or non-financial auditing or consulting experience. Sustainability experience would be preferred. English skills: Advanced (C1)

Certification(s) preferred (not mandatory): 

Any auditing or accounting related credentials, e.g., CPA, charted accountant, etc. FSA Credential and/ or other relevant sustainability credentials 

Knowledge/ Skills Required: 

Knowledge of global sustainability regulations/ frameworks/ standards such as CSRD, California Climate Bills, SEC Climate Rule, ISSB, TCFD, CDP, GHG protocol, etc. Understanding of audit concepts and risk and controls. Experience with Microsoft suite of products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) including basic understanding of data visualization and analytics.
