Job Description
The Access & Accommodation Coordinator, u nder the supervision of the Executive Director of the Warrior Center for Student Success, ensures appropriate academic support and compliance for students with documented disabilities. This position facilitates reasonable accommodations, coordinates support services, and assists in providing accessible learning environments in accordance with ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and institutional policy. The coordinator serves as a resource to students, faculty, and staff on accessibility-related matters and supports campus-wide student retention and success efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Review medical, psychological, or educational documentation to determine eligibility for services.
+ Coordinate and implement accommodations such as note-taking services, testing modifications, interpreter services, and assistive technology.
+ Maintain regular contact with students receiving accommodations to support their academic progress.
+ Provide individualized guidance on navigating accommodations and university systems.
+ Serve as a liaison to faculty and staff regarding student accommodation needs and legal obligations.
+ Consult with faculty to implement accommodations and ensure equitable access to course materials.
+ Provide procedural guidance to university departments on ADA compliance and accommodation policies.
+ Stay up to date on state and federal disability-related legislation, including the ADA and Section 504.
+ Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in accordance with legal and institutional requirements.
+ Assist with the development and review of office policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
+ Provide information about accommodation services to prospective students, parents, and high school counselors.
+ Develop and facilitate general in-service training sessions for staff and faculty to support understanding of disability-related procedures and accommodations.
+ Collaborate with departments across campus to promote awareness of available services and support mechanisms.
+ Refer students to appropriate on-campus and off-campus resources for additional support (e.g., counseling, wellness, legal, financial).
+ Coordinate with relevant staff to connect students with community-based accessibility resources as needed.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director in support of the department’s mission and strategic initiatives.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
+ Working knowledge of ADA, Section 504/508, and FERPA; familiarity with reviewing diagnostic and medical documentation; and understanding of assistive technologies and academic accommodations in higher education.
+ Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; and sensitivity in handling confidential information.
+ Ability to implement and manage new programs.
+ Ability to adhere to ethical standards and ADA laws and regulations. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
+ Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and accessibility software tools.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Special Education, Higher Education, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Two years of experience in student support services, disability services, or a related area.
Salary: $41,200.00
Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Supervision of Others: This position may supervise employees such as student workers.
Work Location: This is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
