About The Role

The Commercial Lines Account Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Commercial Lines department. This role involves handling customer inquiries, processing policy changes, and ensuring that clients receive exceptional service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities: 

Manage emails, mail, voicemail, agency management activities and self-audit reports.

Receive, review, and document client and carrier correspondence in our agency management system including driver requests, endorsement requests and cancellations/recissions.

Review audits, endorsements and policies for accuracy comparing them to the agency management system prior to delivery to the client. Corrections handled according to agency guidelines.

Prepare certificates, evidence of property or auto IDs and forward to appropriate parties or send requests to the Service Assistants for handling. Review contracts and respond to any certificate requests requiring additional information and/or coverage.

Support themonthly reporting process including preparing preliminary reports,correspondencewith the client, submitting to the carrier and documenting.

Support the new/renewal business process including preparing exposure update requests, loss run ordering and loss summaries, renewal strategy documents, creating/updating excel schedules, MVR ordering, completing supplemental applications or entering new business applications into the agency management system.

Work closely with and assist Associate Account Managers and Account Managers throughout the new/renewal business process including basic carrier submissions, online rating, preparing proposals and binding coverage.

Provide back-up coverage for Associate Account Managers and Account Managers handling immediate service needs.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Assist with training and mentoring junior staff members as needed.

Complete data projects to support the region as it pertains to agency management system records.

Execute administrative tasks and reports to support clients, the service team, and other internal departments with Compliance related projects.

Attend and complete any role relevant meetings, training sessions, or assignments as required.

Perform other tasks or projects as requested by service team or region leadership.

Assists the Account Management Team with day-to-day administrative needs such as claims and billing resolution and other service-related items.

Requirements: 

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in correspondence. 

High degree of critical thinking; ability to problem solve when the answer is not readily apparent. 

Demonstrated attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal errors. 

Understanding of insurance concepts and applicable law as it related to employee benefits. 

Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment. 

Ability to demonstrate advanced level proficiency with a variety of technology including MS Office 

Works well with minimal supervision; able to function independently and as part of a team. 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or recognized equivalent is required.

Previous experience in the insurance industry, particularly in commercial lines, is highly desirable.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast paced, professional office setting is required.

Associate degree or higher is preferred, or equitable experience. 

P&C license required. 

Insurance related certifications (CISR, CISR Elite, etc.) are a plus but not required.
