Overview:
The Account Director, Defense Aerospace, is directly responsible for but not limited to assigned target growth clients for Belcan and Cognizant service line and solutions offerings. The Director will build and manage a pipeline for the identification, qualification, bidding, winning, of the Business Area, with a focus on Defense Aerospace from OEMs thru Tier 1 & 2 supplier base. The Director will report directly to the VP of Defense Aerospace and will support all sector directives for driving growth across all service line segments including but not limited to Engineering, Digital, Technology, IT, and AI Service Solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Actively contribute to defining and Implementing vision and strategic roadmap to support a transformational and growth-oriented organization.
* Actively contribute and develop to strategy for defense aerospace pursuits and programs.
* Identify and understand defense aerospace customer requirements and resulting business opportunities.
* Provide analysis on opportunities and risks in the defense aerospace market. Participate in making recommendations to executives on strategies and direction on the market segment.
* Take ownership of assignments, identify new, and manage key partner relationships from routine to complex arrangements; oversee activities of such relationships; support the development of business partnerships to achieve corporate financial and growth objectives.
* Participate in Industry forums and trade shows to cultivate business opportunities.
* Provide guidance for drafting contractual arrangements (i.e. Teaming Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, etc.).
* Achieve sales targets and ensure effective expenditure of Bid & Proposal (B&P) resources.
* Lead and/or contribute to pipeline development, capture strategies and proposal development.
* Clearly and concisely communicate new opportunities including but not limited to description of opportunity, estimated value, competition, risk(s), relationship value, support needed to close, and probable outcome.
* Form strong relationships to source new ideas from your direct team, and all levels in the organization, as well as from external advisers or consultants.
* Clearly communicate achievements and shortcomings, attributing success to those involved.
* Keep management apprised of customer and competitor environments.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s degree or equivalent with sales and business development background.
* Strong ability to navigate research data of market segment, target clients, and competition, to develop efficient roadmap to sales opportunities.
* Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely internal and external to develop strong relationships.
* Strong ability to drive consultative communication with new and developing client relationships.
* Strong ability to engage in communication that results in capture of business gaps that can be turned into solution opportunities for client.
* 6+ years" related experience demonstrated success in building and winning business.
* Experience with improving opportunity shaping & Price to win strategy.
* Proven track record of portfolio optimization leading to increased qualified pipeline opportunities.
* Proven experience in participating in strategic plan development, execution, and results.
* Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; thorough, clear, and timely oral and written communications; Ability to make formal presentations.
* Demonstrated subject matter credibility.
* Attention to detail and superior time management and organizational skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
* U.S. Citizen, Secret Clearance preferred.
* Willing to travel (estimated 25-35%).
* Remote, Full-time (Ability to be professional and productive in remote position)
* Aerospace market knowledge and or engineering background a PLUS but not a requirement
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $150,000 to $170,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
