**The Team**
We are seeking an Account Executive to join the U.S. Tower Division’s Sales & Marketing organization. Day to day you will develop and execute a comprehensive plan to generate new business accounts for our aggregation edge data center. Our facility, with connectivity back to our CoreSite division’s regional data centers and cloud on-ramps, represents an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial sales executive to connect enterprise and cloud in the desired market. The Account Executive will meet new business objectives and maintain an accurate and robust pipeline of both direct and channel business opportunities. You will partner cross-functionally to internally champion customers’ issues, challenges, and opportunities while providing excellent customer service.
**What You Need to Succeed**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
+ A minimum of 7 years of professional sales experience with 3 or more years of in the data center space required.
+ Experience with Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
+ Business development and relationship management skills.
+ A proven track record of achieving new business objectives with accurate forecast management discipline.
+ Commercial and proposal development skills.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
+ Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to achieve results effectively and professionally.
+ Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed-upon time frames through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
+ Demonstrated consultative capability.
+ Customer Resource Management discipline, pipeline management, cold calling, and customer research skills required.
+ Approximately 40% travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.
**What You Can Offer Us**
+ Prospect for new accounts with small to midsize companies by leveraging both direct and channel relationships.
+ Oversee the lifecycle of new business opportunities including sourcing opportunities, proposing, and negotiating terms and closing transactions.
+ Define the competitive landscapes and strategies including profiles of target customers.
+ Partner with the Data Center Product team to align products and customers’ requirements; align American Tower’s shovel-ready land program with market demand (new data center builds).
+ Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop activities and materials to support the Raleigh, N.C., market’s direct and channel sales campaigns.
+ Conduct tours and presentations of your local data center, which will be supported by local product and operations leaders.
+ Prepare proposals and negotiate business and legal terms with potential customers and prospects according to Company guidelines.
+ Oversee transitions of finalized transactions to the relevant internal teams.
+ Regularly communicate with internal stakeholders the supply and demand trends, competitive landscapes, market pricing, and strategies for the Raleigh market.
+ Prepare and present business reviews regarding progress for both direct and channel opportunities.
+ Approximately 50% of the time the role will be performed outside of a conventional office environment.
+ Other duties as assigned.
